Glyxr - Support

Here are several common questions about Glyxr.

Glyxr is a desktop application for Mac and Windows that brings Abbott's LibreLinkUp glucose monitoring to your computer. It allows parents, caregivers, and family members to monitor their loved ones' glucose levels in real-time with always-visible widgets, comprehensive graphs, and customisable notifications.

Glyxr connects to Abbott's LibreLinkUp service to display glucose data from FreeStyle Libre sensors. The person with diabetes uses their FreeStyle Libre sensor and shares their data through the LibreLink app. You then receive that data through Glyxr on your desktop, where you can view it with enhanced monitoring tools and widgets.

Yes, the person you're monitoring needs to be using an Abbott FreeStyle Libre 2 or FreeStyle Libre 3 continuous glucose monitor (CGM) and must share their data through the LibreLinkUp app. Glyxr works as a companion tool to view this shared data on your desktop.

Glyxr is available for:

  • macOS (Mac computers)
  • Windows (PC) - coming soon.

The person being monitored needs a FreeStyle Libre 2 or 3 sensor and must use the LibreLink mobile app on their smartphone to share data via LibreLinkUp.

Glyxr works with FreeStyle Libre 2 and FreeStyle Libre 3 systems. These are Abbott's continuous glucose monitors that automatically measure glucose levels every minute through a small sensor worn on the back of the arm.

  1. The person with diabetes must have a FreeStyle Libre 2 or 3 sensor active
  2. They need to download the LibreLink app and connect their sensor
  3. In LibreLink, they share their data with you via LibreLinkUp
  4. Download and install Glyxr on your Mac or Windows computer
  5. Log in with the same LibreLinkUp credentials you use on your mobile device
  6. Start monitoring with customizable widgets and notifications

Yes, if multiple people share their glucose data with you through LibreLinkUp, you can monitor all of them through Glyxr. Simply switch between connections in the app.

Yes. Glyxr uses Abbott's official LibreLinkUp service, which employs industry-standard security protocols. Your glucose data is transmitted securely, and Glyxr stores your credentials encrypted on your local device. We do not collect, store, or share your health data.

Only people who have been explicitly granted access through the LibreLink app can view glucose data. The person with diabetes is always in control of who they share their information with and can revoke access at any time.

  • Mac: macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later
  • Windows: Windows 10 or later (coming soon)
  • Active internet connection for real-time data sync
  • LibreLinkUp account with at least one active connection

Glyxr is specifically designed for desktop use (Mac and Windows). For mobile monitoring, you can use Abbott's official LibreLinkUp app on iOS and Android. Glyxr complements the mobile app by providing enhanced desktop features like always-visible widgets and advanced customization.

Glyxr requires an active internet connection to receive real-time glucose data from LibreLinkUp. If your connection is lost, Glyxr will display the last known glucose reading and alert you that the connection has been interrupted. Data will resume updating once your internet connection is restored.

First, verify that:

  1. You have an active LibreLinkUp account
  2. The person with diabetes has shared their data with you in the LibreLink app
  3. Your internet connection is working
  4. You're using the correct LibreLinkUp login credentials
